Court Decisions With Judge Ridley

The Honorable District Judge Hal Ridley presided over the Leon District Court in Centerville, Wednesday, September 25th. Present to represent the state were Leon County District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Four cases that were on the call docket to be scheduled for trial were all held off due to Judge Ridley?s scheduled trials in other counties. The Leon County cases that will wait for a court date include Noah Aaron Bigelow of Humble, charged with Assault Family Violence, with Previous Conviction; Joe Harold Fisher of Palestine, charged with Burglary of a Habitation; Lisa Michelle Koym of Centerville, charged with two counts of Burglary of a Habitation; and Michael Christopher Glick of Buffalo, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Lisa Michelle Koym plead guilty to a charge of Forgery in a plea bargain. Koym was sentenced to 1 year in the Department of Corrections Jail with credit for time served. Koym also paid restitution of $350. The attorney for Koym was Kelly Weeks. Two other charges against Koym are pending.

Jon Sylvester Boren of Centerville was arraigned on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney representing Boren is Michelle LaTray. Boren is free on a $7,000 bond.

Barry Lynn Sills plead not guilty to allegations that he has violated the terms of his probation. The original charge against Sills is Continuous Violence Against the Family. The attorney for Sills is Chris Grier.

Sharina Lynn Smith of Hilltop Lakes plead not guilty to a charge of Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under the Age of 15. Smith, who is free on a $3,500 bond, asked for a court appointed lawyer. The judge appointed Attorney Daniel Burkeen to represent Smith.

Daphne Lynn Copeland of Normangee was in court on a Status hearing in her case. Copeland is charged with Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse. Copeland is free on a $2,500 bond. The attorney for Copeland is Charley Johnson.

Jose Raul Reyna of Dallas appeared for a Pre-trial Hearing in his case but no motions were made. Reyna is charged with Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Reyna, free on a $7,500 bond, is represented by Attorney Chris Martin.
