Court with Judge Davis

Leon County District Court was held in Centerville, Thursday, August 29th. The Honorable District Judge Michael Davis presided over a long docket. In the courtroom to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Sentences:

Jarious Zsontae Williams agreed to a plea bargain in his case to settle the charges against him. Williams plead guilty to two charges of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Williams received 30 years in Texas Department of Corrections Jail (TDCJ) for each count. The attorney representing Williams was Stanley Sokolowski.

Authur Kemon Robinson plead guilty to allegations that he had violated terms of his probation. Robinson had been on probation since pleading guilty to a charge of Burglary of a Habitation. Judge Davis sentenced Robinson to 12 years in TDCJ. Attorney John Bankhead represented Robinson.

Jonathan Cain Powell entered a guilty plea to a charge of Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Powell was sentenced to 10 years in TDCJ and must also pay $30,000 in restitution. The attorney for Powell was John Bankhead.

Carl Clifton Carnley agreed to plead guilty to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to 5 years on Deferred Adjudication. Carnley is required to pay a fine of $2,500, plus $50 to Crime Stoppers, and must perform 275 hours of Community Service. In addition, Carnley must complete a Drug Offenders Course. The attorney for Carnley was Raymond Sanders.

Arraignments:

Dustin Kyle Baker entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle. The attorney representing Baker, who is free on bond, is Chris Martin. Baker?s next court date was set for September 26th.

Patrick Shawn Hillhouse failed to appear in court for his arraignment on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The judge revoked Hillhouse?s bond and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Rodney Wayne Jones, who is being held in the Leon County Jail, was in court for arraignment on a charge of Forgery Financial Instrument. Jones plead not guilty. The attorney for Jones is Raymond Sanders.

William Eric Tisdale was not in the courtroom when his name was called for arraignment on a charge of Aggravated Assault Date/Family/Household Member with a Weapon. The judge revoked his bond and issued a warrant for his arrest. Later in the court proceedings, Tisdale did enter the court and was arraigned on the charges. The attorney for Tisdale is Christopher Grier.

Travis Lee Willis, who is being held in the county jail, was arraigned on a charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender to which he plead not guilty. Willis also is charged with Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact and with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Willis is Chris Martin.

Other proceedings:

Demarcus Devontrey Sherman, currently held in the county jail, was in court on a Motion to Revoke. Sherman has been serving on probation following a charge of Assault of a Public Servant. Sherman entered a not guilty plea to the state?s allegations that the terms of the probation have been violated. The attorney for Sherman is Raymond Sanders. The next court date was set for September 26th.

Crystle Dawn Baker, held in the county jail, was in court on a Motion to Revoke in her case. Baker has been on Deferred Adjudication from a charge of Burglary of a Habitation. Baker plead not guilty to allegations that she has violated the terms of her probation. The attorney for Baker is John Bankhead.

Rodney Allen Thomison appeared in court on a Motion to Revoke. Thomison has been charged with Taking a Weapon from an Officer and with Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear. The attorney for Thomison is Chris Martin.

There were no pretrial motions made in the case against Hollis Lane Willingham who is being held in the county jail. Willingham is charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle. Attorney Chris Martin is representing Willingham.

Sharon Annette Green?s case is set for a pretrial hearing on September 26th. Green is charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid. The attorney for Green is Raymond Sanders.

Erica Diann Guy?s case is set for a pretrial hearing on September 26th. Guy, who is being held in the county jail, is charged with Aggravated Assault Date/Family/Household Member with a Weapon. The attorney for Guy is Joel Hardy.
