Funtier Days This Week!

July 4th Celebration time in Leon County is not just a one day event.

Organizers continue to broaden the event selection during this time when citizens come from all over our county to congregate and celebrate our freedoms with displays of their skills and wares at multiple locations around Centerville and at the Leon County Expo Center.

The 44th annual multiday festivities begin July 3rd @ 10 am with Home / Garden entries on exhibit ? Location Methodist Church in Centerville. The 2019 Miss Leon County Belle of the Ball Pageant begins at 5pm ? Location Centerville High School. Team Roping concludes the opening day starting at 7pm ? Location Expo Center.

July 4th gets a ?kick start ? with a 5K / Fun Run at 7:30 am? Location Leon County Courthouse Lawn. Line up begins for the Parade promptly at 8am ? Location Centerville High School.

The Parade begins at 10 am and is a sight to behold by the citizens and followers that line the streets around the Courthouse. Horses, wagons, cowboys, politicians, shined up vehicles, antique tractors, lawn movers??anything that has wheels, legs, and/or any other moving parts will be in motion around the Courthouse square. Don?t miss this event you will be amazed at the excellent condition of these exhibits.

The remainder of the 4th is filled with fun activities including an antique car and tractor show, washer pitching, dog show, turtle race, sack race, tricycle race, watermelon seed spitting, 42 tournament. Activities move to Centerville High School at 6pm for Community Theatre, Kids activities, horse shoe pitching, and an awesome fireworks show starting at 9 pm.

July 5th and 6th highlights the skills of cowboys and cowgirls ?..young and old at the Leon County Expo Center starting at 6:30 pm each night.

The final event of this well organizing celebration will conclude on July 7th with the Ranch Rodeo beginning at 3 pm at the Expo Center.

The Leon County Celebration began in 1975 and gets bigger and better each year ??why???

We have been blessed with active, concerned, talented citizens/ patriots that are not afraid to go the ?extra mile? to highlight and celebrate our freedoms.

Leon County has a long history of patriotism, hard work and personal sacrifice- we must keep this tradition going.
