Court with Judge Davis

District Court was held Thursday, May 30th, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Michael Davis presided.

Present to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Joshua Joe McKinnies agreed to a plea bargain to settle his case. McKinnies plead guilty to a charge of Robbery and was sentenced to 9 years in the Texas Department of Corrections Jail. McKinnies must also pay $13,000 in restitution to Tiger Mart. The attorney for McKinnies was Stanley Sokolowski.

Judge Davis did not accept the guilty plea in the case concerning Rhett Austin Kilgore. Kilgore is charged with Forgery Financial Instrument Elderly. The judge did not accept the plea because of the hesitancy on the part of the defendant. The attorney representing Kilgore is Daniel Burkeen.

Angela Marie Ansley was in court for an arraignment on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Ansley entered a not guilty plea. The attorney representing Ansley is Chris Grier.

Aaron Jerrell Bennett, who is currently being held in the Leon County Jail, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Burglary of a Habitation. The attorney for Bennett is Raymond Sanders.

Authur Kemon Robinson failed to appear in court for a Motion to Revoke in his case. Robinson was originally charged with Burglary of a Habitation.

Carl Clifton Carnley was in court without an attorney. After applying for a court appointed attorney, the judge appointed a lawyer to represent Carnley who is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

There were no pre-trial motions made in the case against Erica Diann Guy who is charged with Aggravated Assault Date/Family/Household Member with a Weapon. The attorney for Guy is Joel Hardy.

A trial date was set in the case against Brittany Lauren Walden who is charged with three counts of Abandon Endanger Child Criminal Negligence . The attorney for Walden is Daniel Burkeen.
