Court with Judge Ridley

District Court was held in Leon County, Wednesday, May 22nd, in the courtroom at Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Hal Ridley presided. Present to represent the state was Leon County Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Leslie Bruce Grantland of Buffalo failed to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing in his case. Grantland had been free on a Personal Recognizance Bond for $25,000. This bond was revoked by the judge who ordered a new $25,000 Surety Bond. Grantland is charged with Burglary of a Habitation and with Property Theft with two or more Previous Convictions. The attorney for Grantland is Chris Grier.

David Lee Halpain entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Violation of Protective Order, 2 Times within 12 Months. Halpain, who is currently held in the Leon County Jail, is represented by Attorney Daniel Burkeen.

Judge Ridley revoked the $6,000 bond of Dale Steven Harvey of Ineanola, Iowa, when he Harvey failed to appear for his arraignment on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. A new bond of $10,000 was set for Harvey. The attorney for Harvey is John Bankhead.

No motions were made in the pre-trial for Eden Victoria Orndorff of Centerville. Orndorff, who is free on a $10,000 bond, is charged with Evading Arrest / Detention with a Vehicle. The attorney for Orndorff is William Bennett.

The case against Santiago Castaneda-Aquilar of Mesquite was continued. Aguilar, who is free on a $5,000 bond, is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More. The attorney for Aquilar is Stanley Sokoloski.

A trial date was set in June for the case against Luis Efrain Torres-Almaraz of Madisonville. Almaraz, who is free on a $3,000 bond, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Almaraz is Joel Hardy.
