BEDC Reopens Search for Executive Director

Buffalo Economic Development Corporation and Tourism continues their search for an Executive Director and Secretary. Ken Jones, who has served for many years and has been the only BEDC Executive Director, is staying at the helm until a replacement can be found. Pauline Graham, who has served as Secretary, also continues.

BEDC Directors decided at their recent regular meeting held March 13th, to call again for applications for the position by advertising in local newspapers. The deadline for those wishing to apply is April 30th.

In other concerns, the board considered a request from Craig Thompson on behalf of the High School Eligible Tournament for funds to purchase a field tarp. The tarp would protect the baseball field from rain and allow games to proceed even after weather events that often cancel a tournament.

Directors voted to provide $5,229.99, the cost of the tarp, to the High School Eligible Tournament. This will be the only state tournament held in Buffalo this season. It is expected to draw 20 ? 25 teams from around the state who will be in our community for several days.

Directors present at the March meeting were President Russell Jonas, Bobby Fishbeck, Mike Glick, Cindy Port, Susan Wilder, and Dianne Ryder. Jones and Graham were also in attendance.
