Jacob Curry Sentenced to 30 Years TDC

Jacob Glenn Curry plead guilty, Thursday, February 28th, to two counts of Indecency With a Child and one count of Sex Abuse of a Child, Continuous: Victim Under the Age of 14. The plea was accepted in District Court presided over by District Judge Michael Davis who sentenced Curry to 30 years in the Texas Department of Corrections. The attorney for Curry was Christopher Grier.

Curry?s first appearance in the Centerville courtroom was in July of 2018 when he appeared for a Motion to Reduce Bail. The judge heard testimony from Leon County Chief Investigator Victor Smith at that time concerning Curry. The judge denied the request for bond reduction.

Curry, who was under investigation for sexual allegations against a child, fled the area after a warrant was issued for his arrest in April of 2018. Smith testified to the coordinated efforts of several law enforcement agencies to locate Smith who was eventually found in the Baytown area and brought back to face the charges in Leon County.

Leon District Attorney Hope Knight said she was satisfied with the sentence on Curry.

Norman Freeman was admonished for arriving late to court for a pretrial hearing in his case. Freeman is charged with Timber Purchase as Trustee with Intent to Defraud. The attorney in the case against Freeman is Michael Dahlenburg. No pretrial motions were heard. The judge set a date for a status hearing and a trial in the case.

A trial date in April was set in the case against Undray Savage, Jr., who is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Savage is currently being held in the county jail. The attorney for Savage is Christopher Grier.

Jaime Omar Alameida-Iglesias entered a not guilty plea in his arraignment on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More. The attorney for Iglesias is Chris Martin.

Charles Leeroy Wade plead not guilty to a charge of Engaging in Criminal Activity at his arraignment. The next court appearance for Wade was set in March. The attorney for Wade is Dennis Craggs.
