Court with Judge Davis

Leon County District Court was held Thursday, January 31, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Michael Davis presided over a crowded docket. There to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Sentences:

Ryan Scott Magby plead guilty to a charge of Possession of Child Pornography and was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections (TDC). Magby had a prior history with other charges of pornography. The attorney representing Magby was John Bankhead.

Anthony Robinson of Buffalo was sentenced to 2 years on probation after he plead guilty to a charge of Burglary. The prosecutor in this case was Leon County Attorney Caleb Henson. The attorney for the defense was Joel Hardy.

Donald Reynard Craig plead guilty to the charge of Attempt to Take Weapon from an Officer and to the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Craig was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail and will be credited with the 5 months he has already served. The attorney for Craig was John Bankhead.

Otilio Alberto Loide plead guilty to a charge of Money Laundering and was sentenced to 6 months in the county jail which was the minimum for this offense. Loide will be deported to his home country after the sentence is completed. The attorney for Loide was John Bankhead.

Other Proceedings:

Michael Langley of Marquez was present in court for a Bond Revocation. Deputies took Langley into custody and a hearing was scheduled for the next day to determine if the bond would be revoked. Langley is charged with Injury to the Elderly with Intended Bodily Injury. The attorney for Langley is Benjie Reed.

Rodney Allen Thomison was in court for a status hearing in his case. The judge and attorneys set his trial date for February 25. Thomison is charged with Taking a Weapon from an Officer. The attorney representing Thomison is Michael Casarett.

Undray Savage, Jr., was in court for a pre-trial hearing in his case. Savage, who is being held in the county jail, is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The attorney for Savage is Christopher Grier. No motions were made and a Status hearing was set for February 9.

Arraignments:

Aaron Jerrell Bennett failed to appear for his arraignment on a charge of Burglary of a Habitation.

Jamie Don Johnson, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, appeared without an attorney. Johnson filled out the application for court assistance, and the judge appointed Christopher Grier to defend the case. Grier entered a not guilty plea for his client.

Julius Deandrea Love was in court for a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Love asked for assistance in obtaining council, completed an application, and was appointed Attorney John Bankhead. Love plead not guilty to the charge.

Carmelo Ponce, who is being held in the county jail, entered a not guilty plea to the charge of Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More. The attorney for Ponce is Whitney Smith.

Marie Deliah Ray failed to appear in court on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The judge ordered that Ray?s bond be revoked and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
