Pitchin’ in the Dirt!

MEMBER OF THE MONTH -- The Buffalo Tri-County Horseshoe Complex was named Member of the Month. Pictured L-R: Ed Chatterly, Elaine Chatterly, Patricia Moon, Phillip Bounds, Willie Rutledge, Kyle Beusch, Bryanna Beusch, Kenneth Oliver and Ken Jones. Top, riding the ‘Bull’ Dylan Rutledge.

Starting in June of 2001, co-founders Paul Kennedy and Willie Rutledge broke ground on a dream. The dream has become the largest, National Horseshoe Pitching Association?s (NHPA) tournament-sanctioned courts in Texas, sporting an amazing complex of 32 courts, 8 covered picnic areas, a full kitchen and temperature-controlled latrines.

Thanks to the support of the community, the City of Buffalo, the Buffalo Economic Development Corporation and merchants like Super 8 Motel, Ace Hardware, Woodson Lumber Company, Tractor Supply, Rancho Viejo No. 2 and many other local merchants, the Buffalo Stampede and Texas Open Cash tournaments draw roughly 200 participants with a cash payout of over $15,000.00 in 2018 alone.

Sporting 4-5 tourneys a year between March and September/October, the Buffalo Tri-County Horseshoe Complex offers fun for all age groups; Cadet Class for boys and girls ages 5-12, Jr. Class ages 13-18, Men, Women and Elders.

Everything is kept on-pitch with the help of Kyle Beusch Director, President and Co-Founder Paul Kennedy, 1st VP Ed Chatterly, 2nd VP and Co-Founder Willie Rutledge, Bryanna Beusch State Tournament Director and many others who make these events possible.

The complex is located at 11958 CR 306 Buffalo TX, 75831, off I-45 Southbound feeder, past McDonalds and behind the San Hill Cemetery. For more information and how to get involved, contact Kyle Beusch at (903) 394-4643 or visit www.TheTexasRinger.com or www.HorseshoePitching.com
