Nucor Donates $5,000 To The Lord’s Pantry

DONATION -- President of The Lord’s Pantry Kathleen Buchanan receives a $5,000 check from Nucor’s Allison Best at the annual volunteer meeting.

Due to an appointment in Waco, I didn?t make The Lord?s Pantry Annual Meeting, but my sweet friend, Pat Lacasse did an awesome job of making notes. Great job, Pat!

The Lord?s Pantry held their annual Volunteer Meeting on January 8th at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Buffalo, complete with a luncheon provided by ?The Pantry? board members. On the ?loaded? table were two types of soup, salads, and as always, some awesome desserts. Needless to say, no one left the table hungry; not with all of those fabulous cooks present!

There were 38 ?hungry? folks around the table. Then the meeting began with President Kathleen Buchanan?s opening statement. She brought everyone up to date on all business matters, and made sure to thank Jeff Jones of the Bison Athletic Department. He headed up the 2018 Annual Food Drive for ?The Lord?s Pantry? which went beyond any and all expectations.

Treasurer, Rick Mays gave the 2018 Financial Report and gave a detailed progress report concerning the storage building which was destroyed last winter. The Lord?s Pantry was blessed with a donation of $5,000 dollars from Nucor Steel at the annual meeting. The check was presented to President Buchanan by Allison Best, of Nucor.

A blessing was prayed upon everyone who supports ?The Pantry? in any way, whether it was thru the food drive, financial, etc. The Lord?s Pantry could not survive without the help of our community. May God continually watch of each and everyone of you.
