District Court Decisions With Judge Evans

Leon County District Court was held Friday, October 19th, in Centerville. The honorable District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans presided. Present to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Floyd Aaron Bowman was in court on a Motion to Revoke Bond and a Request to Substitute Counsel. Bowman was originally charged with sexual Assault of a Child and ordered to stay away from the victim in the case who, at age 13, had a child by Bowman. When the judge was told that the young woman, now 15, had recently given birth to a second child by Bowman, she ordered Bowman taken into custody. ?I am holding him in jail until trial,? said Evans. The attorney for Bowman said, ?It is what it is.? Leon County Deputies led Bowman out of the courtroom.

Milam Borden Noble was sentenced to 9 years in the Texas Department of Corrections Jail following a hearing in his case on a Motion to Revoke. Noble?s had been on probation after pleading guilty to a charge of Assault Bodily Injury Family/Household Member, 2 + within 12 Months. Arguing for Noble was his attorney Hutton Ask. DA Knight presented a more convincing case. The range of confinement in this case was 2 to 10 years, Judge Evans believed the case warranted 9 years.

Darrell Bairrington changed his plea to guilty on the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bairrington, who is facing another charge in Limestone County, accepted a sentence of 5 years in the Texas Department of Corrections instead of having a trial. The attorney for Bairrington was John Bankhead.

Jacob Glenn Curry was in court on a pretrial in his case. Curry is charged with three counts of Indecency with a Child / Sexual Contact. No motions were made. Curry is currently being held in the Leon County Jail. The attorney for Curry is Chris Martin.

Michael Langley was in court for a pretrial in his case, but no motions were made. Langley is charged with Injury to Child/Elderly/Disabled with Intentions of Bodily Injury. The attorney for Langley is Richard Price.

There were no pretrials motions made in the case against Charlyn Denise Morisak who is charged with Deadly Conduct / Discharge of a Firearm. The attorney for Morisak is Chris Martin.

Christina Campos with her attorney Allen Tanner, and Ronnie Ray Campos with his attorney John Keirnan, were in court for a status in their cases. They are each facing 6 counts of Theft of Firearm and 1 count of Theft of Property. Both defendants indicated that their attorneys are working with the district attorney on a plea agreement.

Nacombi Aftri Darton, who is being held in the county jail, was in court for a status hearing in his case. Darton is charged with Prostitution Solicit Person Under Age of 18. The attorney for Darton is Kelly Weeks.

A trial date in November has been set in the case against Bobbie Clarence Hampton who is being held in the county jail. Hampton is charged with 2 counts of Prohibited Substance or Item in a Correction Facility. The attorney for Hampton is Stanley Sokolowski.

No motions were made in the case against Vincent Reynaldo Hernandez who is charged with Manslaughter. The attorney for Hernandez is Clyde Daniel Jones.

Shannon Walenta Hill with her attorney, John Bankhead, and Jason Rhett Maneely with his attorney, Michael Dahlenburg, were in court for a status in their respective cases. Hill and Maneely are each charged with Assault with Bodily Injury Family/Household Member, Second within 12 months. The attorneys indicated that though the district attorney had offered a plea in the cases, Hill and Maneely rejected the offer. The judge noted the cases are old ones and said the cases will be tried next month.

There were no pretrials motions made in the case against Bryon David Evans who is charged with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. Evans, who is in custody, is represented by Attorney Chis Martin.

Colton Lawrence Stancik was in court for a status in his cases. Stancik is charged with Theft / Livestock. The attorney for Stancik is Jodi Kauaghi.

Marco Antonia Alonso, who is being held in the county jail, was present for a pretrial in his case. Alonso is charged with Aggravated Robbery. The attorney for Alonso is Stanley Sokolowski.

Christopher James Russell was in court on a Motion to Revoke Probation. Russell earlier had been sentenced to a Probation following a guilty plea to the charge of Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More. Russell plead not guilty to violating the terms of his probation. The attorney for Russell, who will remain in custody, is Chris Martin.


Mohammad Ismail Al-Rubaii, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, entered a not guilty plea. Attorney Kelly Weeks is representing Al-Rubaii.

Rickey Lynn Jackson, Jr., charged with Possession of Marijuana, plead not guilty. Jackson is represented by Richard Price.

Derrick Terrell Manahan plead not guilty to the charge of Deadly Conduct / Discharge of a Firearm. Manahan is represented by Attorney Christopher Grier. Though Manahan was instructed not to have contact with the alleged victim in this case, the judge learned that Manahan lives in the same house as alleged victim.

Gerisha Leniece Scott, charged with Invasive Visual Recording, entered a not guilty plea. The attorney for Scott is John Bankhead.
