Sittin' Under the Oak Tree 10-16-18

Re-sharing one of my favorite ‘borrowed-shares’ from many years ago; still makes me chuckle. Kids are awesome!

A little girl, six years old, was talking to her teacher about whales. She related the story from the Bible, read by her Sunday School teacher the day before, about Jonah and the whale. The teacher said that it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because, even though it was a very large mammal, it’s throat was very small. Too, she believed the Bible to be a figment of someone’s imagination.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale, and nobody was going to change her mind.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could NOT possibly swallow a human; never in a million years.

The little girl said: “When I get to Heaven, I will ask Jonah!”

The teacher asked, “What if Jonah went to hell???”

The little girl replied: “Well, then, you can ask him?”

My Note: You know what? We, as Christians, should be just that bold. I don’t mean offensive; I mean bold and courageous for the cause of Christ, which brings me to one of my greatest ‘pet-peeves’.

Pastors should be addressed as Pastor. (In my case, Pastor Jack.) My Pastor is God-called and should receive the respect ordained for his position. ***(Letters?) I will get letters, but that’s okay; it goes with the territory.

Thought for the Week: A description of a holy person: giving and forgiving.
