Rodell Headed To Nationals

NATIONAL BOUND -- Alex Rodell is headed to Nationals in Huron, South Dakota June 24th-30th to compete in Goat Tying.

Alex Rodell is headed to Nationals in Huron, South Dakota June 24th-30th to compete in the Nationals Junior High Rodeo Association Goat Tying competition.

The State competition was held in Gonzales, TX May 27th - June 2nd where Rodell competed in Goat Tying and Breakaway Roping. When all was said and done, Rodell advanced to the National competition in Goat Tying.

In the Goat Tying competition, Rodell was Reserve Champion in the 1st Go, 6th Place in the 2nd Go, was the Average Reserve Champion, and finished 4th overall to qualify for Nationals.

Alex will be an 8th grader at Centerville Junior High in the fall. She is an Honor Roll student, is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Centerville 4-H, Texas Youth Ranch Rodeo Association, Pineywoods Youth Rodeo Association, and plays basketball and runs track for the Lady Tigers. Alex is the daughter of Sharon & Todd Pruett and Trampas & Angela Rodell. Proud Grandparents are Dennis & Mary Ann Vaughn and Tommy Rodell.

Laramee Champion, the daughter of Bud & Traci Champion; Emma Johnson, the daughter of Bridget Johnson; and Bradi Freeman, the granddaughter of Brian & Patricia Freeman also competed in the State Finals.
