Welcome!

Primera Iglesia Bautista de Buffalo: Spanish First Baptist Church

Primera Iglesia Bautista de Buffalo Pastors Richard De Leon & Francisco Rodriquez

The Spanish First Baptist Church of Buffalo has two new pastors who want to welcome all worshipers to attend their services at the church on the corner of Pearlstone Street and Railroad Street. The church, which is a mission church of the First Baptist Church of Buffalo, has been in operation for several years, but Pastor Richard De Leon and Pastor Francisco Rodriguez are new to the church and to the congregation.

Pastor De Leon is originally from Mexico but was raised in the United States. He is the Program Coordinator of the Equip Biblical Institute and the Hispanic Coordinator of Tyler. ?Our purpose and hope,? said De Leon, ?is to reach as many Hispanic families and individuals, young and old, that we can in Buffalo and surrounding areas.? De Leon, who has been a pastor since the age of eighteen, is a graduate of the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary of Fort Worth.

Pastor Rodriquez also came to the United States as a young person from Mexico. He spent many years working in Baptist youth programs before becoming a full pastor in 2009. He is a graduate of the Baptist University of America in San Antonio. ?We welcome everyone here,? said Rodriquez, ?and when we have people who only speak English, we do a bi-lingual service.?

While Rodriquez is married with four children, De Leon is a widower but enjoys eleven grandchildren. Both gentlemen reside in Tyler and work with Hispanic outreach programs in Smith County. Both are happy to serve in Buffalo as well and are eager to meet more people in this community. Everyone is welcome at Primera Iglesia Bautista de Buffalo where Sunday service starts at 10:45am.
