Court with Judge Ridley

Leon District Court was held Wednesday, May 23rd, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Hal Ridley presided. There to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Sentences:

Cullen Shane Pate of Centerville plead guilty to two charges of Aggravated Robbery. Pate was sentenced to two 16 years sentences in the Texas Department of Criminal Jail (TDCJ). The sentences are to run concurrently, and Pate will receive credit for the time he has served in the Leon County Jail.

Vincent Trey Amos of Buffalo entered a true plea to the state?s allegations that he has violated the terms of his probation. Amos was sentenced to a term of probation following his guilty plea earlier this year to Burglary of a Habitation. The judge sentenced Amos to 2 years in TDCJ. Amos will receive credit for the time he has been in the Leon County Jail. The attorney for Amos was Richard Price.

Allison Raelynn Moore of Corsicana plead guilty to two charges of Burglary of a Habitation. Moore received a sentence of 7 years on probation and must pay a $1,000 fine for each offense and pay restitution charges. The attorney for Moore was Chris Martin.

Cases set for trial

in June:

Robert Glenn Hammock of Marquez, who is currently being held in the county jail, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Hammock is Richard Price. Hammock was also arraigned on charges of Bail Jumping and Failure to Appear to which he plead not guilty.

Terrell Henry Buckner of Mexia, who is currently free on a $7,500 bond, is charged with Assault Family Household Member with a Previous Conviction. The attorney for Buckner is Joel Hardy.

Alexander Contreras of Bryan, free on a $2,500 bond, is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. The attorney for Contreras is Hutton Ask.

Kayla Renee Jones of Beeville was not present in court. The judge ordered the arrest of Jones and set a new bond for $10,000. Jones is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Arraignments:

Jason Wayne Brown entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Burglary of a Habitation. Brown is currently being held in the county jail. The attorney for Brown is Joel Hardy.

Lomil Brian Farve of Missouri City entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Possession of Marijuana. Farve is currently free on a $5,000 bond.

Mohammad Ibrahim Ghriri of Houston entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Ghriri is free on a $10,000 bond.

Marcus Lotts was not present in court when his case was first called. The judge issued an arrest warrant for Lotts and ordered a new bond set at $25,000. Later, Lotts did appear in court. The judge admonished him for being late and withdrew the warrant. Lotts, who is charged with Assault Family / Household Member with a Previous Conviction and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Evading Arrest / Detention with a Vehicle, did not have an attorney with him. The judge appointed Attorney Chris Martin to represent Lotts.

Robert Dewayne Lotts of Centerville was not present when his case was called. Lotts is charged with Burglary of a Habitation.

Charles Edward Merchant, Jr. entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Merchant, who is being held in the county jail, is represented by Attorney Richard Price.

Madrid Bradley Reece of Fort Worth was not in the courtroom when his case was first called. The judge issued an arrest warrant for Reece and issued a new bond for $25,000. Later, Reece did appear and the judge withdrew the warrant. Reece, free on a $10,000 bond, is charged with Possession of Marijuana. The judge appointed Attorney Hutton Ask to represent Reece who said he was currently unemployed.

George Etta Scott of Buffalo plead not guilty to a charge of Hindering an Apprehension. The attorney for Scott is Hutton Ask. Scott is free on a $3,500 bond.

Motions:

Maurice L. Darnell of Normangee plead not true to a Motion to Revoke his probation. The attorney for Darnell, who is free on a $5,000 bond, is Hutton Ask.

Esmeralda G. Montano of Buffalo entered a not true plea to a Motion to Revoke her probation. The attorney for Montano, who is free on a $10,000 bond, is Chard Morgan.

In the case against Stephanie Anne McKnight of Marquez, her attorney, William Carter, said that if the case is not resolved soon, it would be ready to move to trial. McKnight, who is free on a $25,000 bond, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Descorian J. Cork, who is being held in the county jail, requested a bond set in his case. The judge agreed and set a bond for Cork at $10,000. Cork is charged with Possession of Marijuana. Cork?s attorney is Stanley Sokolowski.
