Court with Judge Evans

Leon County District Court was held Friday, May 18th, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans presided. In court to represent the state were Leon District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Judge Evans was ready to hear a Motion to Quash in the case against Matthew Blake Cowan, but Cowan?s attorney withdrew the motion, so no hearing occurred. Cowan, charged with Misuse of Official Information, is a former Leon County Sheriff?s Deputy. The three co-defendants in the case, also former officers and charged with the same offense, were present in the courtroom.

Cullen Shane Pate, who is being held in the Leon County Jail, was in court for a status hearing. The next court date for Pate, who is charged with Aggravated Robbery, was set for June. The attorney for Pate is Steve Keathley.

An August court date was set in the case against John Shawe Williams who is charged with Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity. The attorney for Williams is John Bankhead.

Christina Campos was in court for a pretrial hearing in her case. Campos is charged with 7 counts of Theft of a Firearm. No motions were made. Attorney Allen Tanner is representing Campos.

Ronnie Ray Campos was in court for a pretrial also. Campos is also charged with 7 counts of Theft of a Firearm. Attorney John Keirman is representing Ronnie Campos. No motions were heard.

Bridget Nichol Cast failed to appear in court for her pretrial. Cast is charged with Assault of a Public Servant. The attorney for Cast, Michelle Latray, explained to the judge that her client is currently in the hospital.

A pretrial in the case against Delingo Haven, Jr. was reset for June 15th. Haven is charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous: Victim Under the Age of 14 and with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. The attorney for Haven is William Carter.

No motions were heard in the case against Arturo Hernandez who is being held in the Leon County Jail. Hernandez is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Hernandez is Wes Hammit.

Gordon Dexter Itchue, who is being held in the Limestone County Jail, was in court for a pretrial hearing in his case. Itchue is charged with Theft of Property. The attorney for Itchue, Michelle Latray, had no motions in the case.

The case against Albert Myua Jacobs was set for June. Jacobs is charged with Assault Family / Household Member with a Previous Conviction. The attorney for Jacobs is Joel Hardy.

No hearings were held in the case against Anthony Dawon Robinson who is charged with Burglary of a Building. The attorney for Robinson is Joel Hardy.

No motions were made in the case against Brandon Antwon Thompson who is charged with 2 counts of Intoxicated Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury and with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under the Age of 15. The attorney for Thompson is Chris Martin.

The case against Jeremy Edward Whitmire was set for June. Whitmire is charged with Burglary of a Building. The attorney representing Whitmire is John Bankhead.

The case against Jerome Dawson, Jr., was reset for June. Dawson is charged with Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm. The attorney for Dawson is Stanley Sokolowski.

Edward Galicia was in court for a status in his case. Galicia is charged with 2 counts of Sexual Assault of a Child. The attorney for Galicia is Michelle Latray.

Adam Ray Reed was in court for a status in his case. Reed is charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Attorney Charley Johnson is representing Reed who has plead not guilty.
