District Court with Judge Evans

Leon County District Court was held Friday, April 20th, in the Centerville Courtroom. The Honorable District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans presided. Present to represent the state were Leon County District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook.

Brandon Jomantae Venable plead guilty to two charges of Robbery and was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections (TDC). The attorney representing Venable was Chris Martin.

Jason Alan Warner plead guilty to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance and received a sentence of 5 years in TDC. Warner will be given credit for the time he has served in the Leon County Jail. The attorney for Warner was Richard Price.

Caitlyn Leigh Torti, currently held in the county jail, was in court on a Motion to Revoke her probation. Earlier Torti had plead guilty to a charge of Theft of a Firearm and was serving a probated sentence. Torti agreed that she was in violation of the terms of that probation and was sentenced to 191 days. Torti will receive credit for time already served. The attorney for Torti was Jeffery D. Wagnon.

The case against Dylon Wray Ross was set for May. Ross, charged with Indecency with a Child Sexual, is represented by Attorney David Hammit.

The case against Ashley Pond was set for May. Pond, currently held in the county jail, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Pond is William Carter.

A status hearing was held for Adam Ray Reed who is charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. The attorney for Reed is Charley Johnson.

John Shawe Williams was in court for a pretrial hearing in his case. No motions were made. Williams is charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. The attorney for Williams is John Bankhead.

No pretrial motions were heard in the case against Delingo Haven, Jr. who is currently being held in the county jail. Haven is charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child: Continuous. The attorney representing Haven is William Carter.

Edward Galicia was in court for a status hearing in his case. A May trial date was set. Galicia is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child. The attorney for Galicia is Michelle Latray.

Norman Freeman was present for a status hearing in his case, but his attorney, Michael Dahlenburg, was not in the courtroom. The judge set a trial date of May 18 for the case. Freeman is charged with Timber Purchase as Trustee with Intention to Defraud.

Arraignments

Anthony Dawon Robinson entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Burglary of a Building. Robinson is represented in court by Attorney Joel Hardy.

Christina Campos was in court to plead not guilty to six charges of Theft of a Firearm and one charge of Theft of Property. The attorney for Campos is Allen M. Tanner.

Ronnie Ray Campos plead not guilty to 6 charges of Theft of a Firearm and 1 charge of Theft of Property. Campos is represented by Attorney John Keirnan.

Brandon Antwon Thompson entered not guilty pleas to three charges: Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under the Age of 15 and two Intoxicated Assault with a Vehicle with Serious Bodily Injury. The attorney for Thompson is Chris Martin.

Tarrell Devon Galloway plead not guilty to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Galloway is Heath Hyde.

Jeffrey Wayne Horton plead not guilty to a charge of Burglary of a Building. Horton is currently being held in the Limestone County Jail. His attorney is Michelle Latray.

Aspen Dann Adams entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Assault of a Public Servant. Attorney Stanley Sokolowski is representing Adams.

Darrell Glen Bowers entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Bowers? attorney is Leslie Wallrath.

Jeremy Edward Whitmire plead not guilty to a charge of Burglary of a Building. Whitmire who appeared in court without an attorney, filled out an application for the court to appoint a representative to his case. Attorney John Bankhead was appointed to represent Whitmire.

Jeremy Lawayne Willis plead not guilty to a charge of Assault Family/Household Member with a Previous Conviction. The attorney for Willis is Stanley Sokolowski.

Gordon Dexter Itchue pled not guilty to a charge of Theft of Property. Itchue is represented by Attorney Michelle Latray.

Albert Myua Jacobs plead not guilty to a charge of Assault Family/Household Member with a Previous Conviction. The attorney for Jacobs is Joel Hardy.

Ashley Annette Nellums appeared in court without an attorney. The judge required Nellums to fill out an application for public assistance. Nellums is charged with Theft of a Firearm.
