Hickerson Named BHS Principal

Corey Hickerson

Corey Hickerson was named the new BHS Principal for 2018-2019 at the BISD School Board Meeting last night, April 16th.

Hickerson is finishing up his ninth year in education. He is coming to Buffalo after serving as the Principal at Rice High School this year. He served as a Principal Blooming Grove Elementary for a year and was an Assistant Principal at Life High School in Waxahachie for 2 years.

Before becoming an administrator, Hickerson was a teacher and coach for five years. He taught and coached at Rowlett, Arlington Bowie, and Corsicana.

Hickerson, a graduate from Joshua High School, earned his Bachelors of Kinesiology from Texas State where he played football for three years. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Tarleton State University and earned his Principal Certification from Lamar University.

Corey married Morgan in 2011. They have a 5 year old daughter, Brighton, and are expecting a baby boy in September.

“The sense of community shows that the people are invested in the school here,” Hickerson said. “The students are also doing well academically and athletically.”
