Meet Sgt. Brockman

Sergeant Stephen Brockman is now serving as the Texas Highway Patrol/ Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sergeant in the area. His office is located in Buffalo in a newly created Sergeant position as of December 4, 2017. His area includes Leon, Walker, Madison, Robertson, Grimes, Brazos, Burleson, and Washington Counties.

Sgt. Brockman has been in law enforcement for 28 years. He served as a Federal Maritime Law Enforcement Officer for the US Coast Guard in Central South America/Caribbean for eight years. He then worked for the Calhoun Sheriff?s Department for 14 months before beginning his career with the TX DPS in September 1999.

He has been stationed in Marfa, Alpine, Kerrville, Laredo, Brenham, Bryan, and Buffalo.

For the past 4 1/2 years, Brockman has served as Corporal for the area out of Bryan.

Sgt. Brockman?s troopers have an emphasis on commercial vehicles, hazardous materials, height/weight/length of loads, and making sure drivers are properly licensed to drive. His troopers are also in charge of the weigh station on I-45 in Centerville along with their regular highway patrol duties which includes enforcing TX Penal Codes and Health & Safety Codes.

The Buffalo office is currently being remodeled as well. Safe and secure entrances are being added as well a $15,000 upgrade in wiring to the office for technology purposes.

Sgt. Brockman is married and has four children.
