Oakwood Resident Elected To TEEA State Position

Nyanza Price

Nyanza Price, a resident of Oakwood, was elected to President -Elect of the Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA) at the 91st Conference at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Nyanza, who joined the organization in 2005, is the first African American who will lead this organization. She will take the reign in 2018. The first year she will be trained by the present president. She has held several positions locally, county, district and state. She last held the position of Second Vice president for Programs for the state.

Nyanza is looking forward to serving as President. Although she is a member of the recently reorganized Oakwood Chapter, she has the full support of all the chapters in the county.

Nyanza is an active member of the Leon County Community. She believes in lending a helping hand.
