Court with Judge Evans

Leon County District Court was held Friday, September 15th, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans presided. Representing the state were Leon County District Attorney Hope Knight, Assistant District Attorney Keith Cook, and District Attorney Pro Tem Caleb Henson.

Roderick Jermaine Lewis agreed to a plea bargain in his case. Lewis entered a guilty plea to several charges including Aggravated Robbery, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Tamper/Fabrication of Evidence, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, an Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction. In exchange for the plea, Lewis was sentenced to 8 years probation. The attorney for Lewis was Kelly Weeks.

Christy Deann Mareth pled guilty to a charge of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to 6 years probation. Mareth must perform 200 hours of community service, pay of fine of $500 plus other fees and restitution. Attorney Kelly Weeks represented Mareth in this case.

Cullen Shane Pate was in court for a pretrial in his case. Pate is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery. The attorney for Pate is Steve Keathley. The case was reset for November to allow more time for lab results on evidence.

There were no pretrial hearings in the case against Brandon Jomantae Venable, and his case was set for status on October 20th. Venable is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery. The attorney for Venable is Chris Martin.

Megan Leanne Short, currently held in the Leon County Jail, was in court for a pretrial in her case. Short is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The case was set for status in October. The attorney for Short is Michael Dahlenburg.

The case against Kevin Lee Tucker was set for status in October. Tucker, who is being held in the county jail, is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The attorney for Tucker is Michelle Latray.

The case against Demarcus Devontrey Sherman was reset for October. The attorney for Sherman, Hutton Ask, was in a trial in another county. Sherman is charged with Assault of a Public Servant.

No motions were made in a pretrial for Jabraun Donche Washington, who is being held in the county jail. Washington is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery. The attorney for Washington is Stanley Sokolowski.

The case against Stacey Michelle Bowman was reset for October. Bowman is charged with Injury to Child/Elderly/Disabled with the Intent of Bodily Injury. The attorney for Bowman is Hunter Simmons.

The case against Dustin Bresko was reset for November. Bresko is charged with Misuse of Official Information. The attorney for Bresko is Clyde Daniel Jones.

The case against Christian Negron was reset for October. Negron is charged with Misuse of Official Information. The attorney for Negron is Cameron Reynolds.

Matthew Blake Cowan?s case was reset for Novermber. Cowan is charged with Misuse of Official Information. Richard Carter is the attorney for Cowan.

Brandon Monk, also charged with Misuse of Official Information, was in court for a status hearing. The case was reset for November. The attorney for Monk is Donald Andreski.

The case against Dominique Rashad Elias was reset for October 20th. Elias, who is currently held in the county jail, is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and with Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle. The attorney for Elias is Richard Price.

Arraignments

Joe Edgar Melendez entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. The attorney for Melendez is William Bennett.

Amber Rose Morgan pled not guilty to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The attorney for Morgan is Chris Martin.

Stephanie Ann Rabalais entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Driving While Intoxicated with a Chile Under the Age of 15. The attorney for Rabalais is Michael Davis.

John Andrew Ramirez appeared in court without an attorney. After applying for a court appointed attorney, the judge assigned Attorney Chris Martin to represent Ramirez who is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Ramirez pled not guilty.

Stanley Alton Thurmann, Jr. requested a court appointed attorney. After Thurmann completed an application to determine if qualified, the judge appointed Attorney Stanley Sokolowski to represent Thurmann who is charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle. Thurmann pled not guilty.

Enrique Villarreal entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. A pretrial was set for October. Villarreal is currently held in the county jail.
