Court with Judge Bentley

District Court was held Thursday, July 28th, in Centerville. The Honorable District Judge Bascom Bentley presided. The state was represented by Leon County District Attorney Hope Knight and Assistant District Attorney Caleb Henson.

Tomika Shanee Oliver of Buffalo agreed to a plea bargain to settle her case. Oliver, pled guilty to two charges, Forgery and Tampering with or Fabrication of Physical Evidence. Oliver was sentenced to two years in the Texas Department of Corrections Jail (TDCJ). The sentence is stacked. Oliver must complete the sentence she is currently serving in TDCJ before starting the new sentence. Attorney for Oliver is Stanley Sokolowski.

Jaime Stewart Nofsinger pled guilty to a Theft charge. Nofsinger was sentenced to one day in the county jail. Nofsinger also paid $1,800 in restitution. Representing Nofsinger was Attorney Ryan Deaton.

Michael Dwayne Gasaway, who was being held in the county jail, entered a guilty plea to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Gasaway was sentenced to two years in TDCJ. Attorney for Gasaway is Wes Hammit.

Bobby Dean Reynolds, who has been held in the county jail, entered a guilty plea to a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Reynolds was on parole when he received this charge. Reynolds was sentenced to 285 days in the state jail facility, but he also received 285 days of credit for time already served. Reynolds will be on probation and must pay a $180 fine. Attorney for Reynolds is Richard Price.

Jamie Omar Almeida-Iglesias of Buffalo was arraigned on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated with Child Under the age of 15. Almeida-Iglesias entered a not guilty plea and a pre-trial was set for September 29th. Attorney Richard Price represented Almeida-Iglesias.

A trial date of August 25th was set in the case against David McNiel Capps. Capps, who is currently held in the county jail, is charged with Aggravate Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Attorney for Capps is Michelle Latray.

Kevin Patrick Pilgreen, also held in the county jail, was in court for a pre-trial hearing. Pilgreen is charged with Burglary of a Building. Attorney for Pilgreen is John Bankhead. Bankhead asked the court for more time and the pre-trial was reset for August.

Billie Wayne Golden was in court for a status hearing. Golden is charged with Credit Card Abuse. Wes Hammit, attorney for Golden, asked the judge for more time to prepare the case because new evidence had been submitted. The judge reset the status hearing for August.
